Monday Inspiration

So this post is a wee bit late but still read on!  Mondays can be tough and I know most people don't really like when the weekend comes to an end. I must be the odd one out because I personally enjoy Mondays. It's a time to put the previous week's failures aside, set new goals, work a little harder and enjoy life.  So I've decided to do Motivation Monday's!

Normally it will be a little post to help cheer on the day and give your Monday a little boost. Today's will be a bit different from the following weeks but let me tell you a little story.

I spent one summer, in between post secondary semesters, working at the local Co-op grocery store. I tried to find something more along the lines of my studies {Human Resources} but that didn't happen. I dreaded every shift and I felt a pit in my stomach every time I was getting ready for work. I couldn't actually tell you why I disliked it so much but I just didn't like going. I was treated decent and I got to meet some nice people but if I didn't need to pay rent, I would not have gone. {Also, you should have seen the uniform. Not exactly what I was used to} At the end of the day though, I still hated my job. When I gave my 2 weeks notice, it was a very happy day for me. I vowed to never work in a grocery store again {that was why I was going to school, wasn't it?}.

Fast forward to present day. I'm living in Nipawin and trying to make AKA my career [post here]. Some days are better than others but it's still hard being this creative entrepreneur... Especially when I have bills and a mortgage to pay and car payments. Today was particularly challenging because I was lacking motivation and wondered how I was going to pay for certain things. Then I looked above my computer to see a poster I taped to the wall...

WorkHarder

This is my daily reminder and motivator to work my butt off so I don't have to apply for this job. {I have nothing against working there, it's just not what I want to do for the rest of my life}  I also have little quotes taped around my room but this Produce Clerk positions seems to really light a fire in me. I do not want to go back to working in a grocery store or even in a job that I'm 'just doing for the money'. I want to do something I love and make a life that means something, something that's not just about money either.

It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things. ~Leonardo da Vinci

So, what motivates you? Do you have ways to make Monday's better?  Share them in the comments below!

I can totally relate to this. There have been some very unhappy days in our house stressing about money, especially right after a wedding. This is my first year not getting a second job with my business and though it’s been tight, it’s kept me motivated to produce better quality work so I can charge more and make a living without stressing about payments. Today when I was worrying about how I was going to pay for some new branding items I wanted I said to myself, “If I don’t invest in my business, how can I expect anyone else to?” So fingers crossed for some unique new ways to increase my services & raise my rates!
