A Year in Review

"Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different."  ~CS Lewis

Happy New Year! I can't believe how quickly time flies sometimes and I'm not really sure where this year went.  I saw this CS Lewis quote today and it resonated with me.  Sometimes, I find myself with tunnel vision. I live my life day by day, look back at the past week and feel like I really didn't accomplish much.  Then I have to remind myself that a lot happened in 2012.

As I reflect on last year, there were some major changes.

  • Moved from Regina, resigned from my job as a Recruiter. What a huge leap I took! I didn't even have a job lined up in Saskatoon.  In January, I said I would move home in the spring 'sometime'. I had no idea when that actually would be and I had great employers who understood why I needed to go resign.
  • Moved back in with my parents {a bit scary after living on my own for many years - did I mention my sister was moving home too!}. This actually wasn't as challenging as I thought it would be and I have loved being home. I like being close to family and not having to drive someplace every weekend.
  • Found a job working with some fantastic entrepreneurs - all of which are very inspiring.  CYBF has been an awesome job to get me reintegrated into the Saskatoon business community. I have already met some really great people and have had some opportunities that I wouldn't have had otherwise.
    • Joined lia sophia and have met some amazing women and have helped some others get amazing deals on bling! I seriously love this line. I love that they're affiliated with Dress for Success, provide a lifetime replacement guarantee on all jewellery and great customer and hostess incentives. The extra cash I've earned too has been nice too :)
    • Decided to do what I've always wanted to do - create my own jewellery. I have always had a creative side to me but didn't seem to find that working in an office. In my spare time, I've been able to make something. Then I realize I don't like it. So I create until some beautiful evolves.

Like every year, there are always ups and downs.  Precious lives born and others who sadly passed.  I got to take part in a friend's beautiful wedding, witnessed another gorgeous wedding.  Kyle and I went on a few road trips, spent time with family and friends, lots of time at the lake and enjoyed life.

So now it's time to look forward to 2013! What will be in store this year?  I'm not one to make resolutions but 2 years ago I made a resolution to focus on me. No boys.  Well 6 days later I met Kyle.  So much for that resolution! I'm going to take tonight to think of some areas to improve.  Once I've determined some I'll let you all know.

I hope you all have a blessed and prosperous 2013!

    After another day of combining.
