Jewelry That Gives Back

If you have been following AKA for a while or know me personally, you may be aware that I've always had this dream of having my own business. When I started AKA I didn't start it to just make pretty jewelry. Although that is a big part of it, I have always had a vision for something greater. I wanted my jewelry to empower women and my desire was (and still is!) when someone wore my jewelry, they'd feel their best, most beautiful, and bold self.
I also knew that I wanted to be able to give back and had been looking for organizations that supported and encouraged the development, education and of course, the empowerment of women. The intention from the very beginning was that I'd donate a portion of sales to these organizations.
When The Princess Shop first approached me, I knew immediately that this was the organization I had been patiently waiting for! TPS is a highly regarded Saskatoon-based organization that creates an enhanced graduation experience (gowns and all!) for female students in need, and provides them with mentorship, support, and the tools to pursue success after graduation. Their vision is that each young woman in Saskatchewan will have the opportunity to celebrate her accomplishments and reach her full potential, ultimately positively impacting her entire community.  (Learn more by visiting their website here.)
The Princess Shop
I met with Karen Robson, TPS Executive Director, and Whitney Warrington, TPS Fundraising Coordinator, at the beginning of March to discuss my idea about creating an exclusive AKA necklace. This keepsake necklace would be hand stamped with words that inspire, empower and encourage the wearer to chase their dreams. They liked the idea and we all thought it would complement what The Princess Shop stands for.
Today is the day the ‘Chase Your Dreams’ Necklace' is available for everyone! You have your choice of gold-filled or sterling silver with the phrase/word of your choosing (Be Bold, Believe, Hope, Inspire). I’m so proud and excited to release these special necklaces into the world. They would make excellent Graduation gifts or gifts for anyone who needs some encouragement or inspiration!
Be the change, support The Princess Shop and the empowerment of young women by order a necklace today!

xo,
