How to Enhance Your Personal Style

Your personal style says a lot about you. It's what sets you apart from those around you; it’s ever changing and evolving. You select outfits for whatever the event, do your hair and make up, pick a killer pair of heels and then finish off your look by accessorizing.

Accessories are a staple in every woman’s wardrobe. Jewelry helps express your unique style and personality, bring out your best features and can transform a dull look into something fabulous in seconds.

When you want to enhance your look, regardless of the occasion, remind yourself of these five things:

Make a Statement

Pick an area you want to emphasize and stand out! Where do you want people to look when they see you? Does your dress have a great neckline? Add a great statement necklace. Maybe you have a lot going on at the neckline? Forgo the necklace and opt for some statement earrings and bangles!

    Keep it Balanced

If you’re wearing a simple jeans and t-shirt, wear bold and colorful accessories. Bright, patterned dress? Wear simple, chic gold jewelry. If you have on a statement necklace, keep the rest of your jewelry subtle.

      Mix & Match

Avoid being matchy matchy with colors. You don’t want to match your whole outfit but instead mix colors, patterns and styles. Just make sure they complement each other. Don’t forget to mix metals too!

        Layer and Stack Up

Add some dimension and texture by layering different necklaces with different lengths or by stacking rings or bracelets. This gives the eye a few more places to wander and admire.

        Less is More

There is such a thing as too much so, unless it’s an arm party where more is more, exercise a bit of restraint. As Coco Chanel said “It is always better to be slightly underdressed.”

Play around and experiment with jewelry and accessories. Take your looks from day to night, casual to edgy, boring to va-va-voom by using different jewelry. Find what works best for you and makes you feel great. Remember, there are no real rules in fashion and if there are some rules, they’re meant to be broken! If you really love something, then wear it. You are the creator of your own style and ultimately whatever you end up wearing, wear it boldly and with confidence!
